4. That’s Alright by Laura Mvula
5. The Wire by Haim
6. Sacrilege by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs
7. Royals by Lorde
8. XO by Beyonce
9. Strong by London Grammar
10. Where We Are Now? by David Bowie
This week, my favourite is the wonderful Janelle Monae with Queen Erykah. Which one is yours?
See you next week for 2014!

Not sure what was happening in life then! Ah yes I do. Started my career in school. Probably sucked my energy up and all I listened to was nursery rhymes and kids songs 😂

Haha. Good ole nursery rhymes. I should’ve made room for one in at least one of top tens.

That shock when Andy Murray won Wimbledon!! 😀

I remember it so well. I lept up and squealed so loudly, I terrified my daughter.

Bwahaha! 😀
I think the whole of the UK had a similar reaction!!

Hard one, but I think Royals for me… maybe. Jeepers, there wasn’t much in the way of good news was there!

Oh here you are. Is this the comment you thought disappeared? And no, there really wasn’t a lot of good news in 2013.

Our second child was born this year, so I don’t remember much beyond the fog of sleep deprivation. Has to be Q.U.E.E.N. by Janelle Monae & Erykah Badu for me, even though I don’t think I properly noticed it until the following year!

Ah yes, that’s why 2010 was such a foggy year for me musically. Q.U.E.E.N. is just a brilliant track, so glad it’s proved quite popular this week.

I think I watched that Q.U.E.E.N. video a million times when it came out. I love the lyrics, the vibe, everything! Yassssss!

Lords has definitely proved popular this week. I love hearing what other favourites people have that didn’t make my list. Limiting myself to 10 Tunes was always going to make it tricky for me.

Grrr. My comment didn’t show, adding my vote to Royals x

It has to be ‘That’s Alright’. I had it on repeat that year. Really like Q.U.E.E.N and Sacrilege too.

Three very good choices again. I had It’s Alright on repeat that year too. Such a great song with a great message.

Haim is the only one that really sticks out from this list for me. I was studying two OU modules this year so I’m guessing any music was just background noise!
Wasn’t Gangnam Style 2013 😉

You’re quite right. How I could I miss out Gangnam Style?! Oooooh sexy lady….

I dressed up as Lorde and lipsynched Royales to the delight of about 450 high school students one Christmas assembly, so I’ll have to go with her!

Haha brilliant! Yes, you definitely had to pick her then.
